Rides

Choose your ride

Dundee Dynamo has three regular ride groups. Each is a core part of the club, with its own pace, distance and surface.

Weekly details for every group are posted in our Facebook group. Saturday Bike & Blether and Sunday Club Pace keep their usual days. Dudes in the Woods may move between Tuesday and Wednesday.

Bike & Blether

Saturday · 20 to 30 miles · 9 to 11 mph

A welcoming social ride for people new to group cycling and experienced riders who enjoy an easier pace.

Dudes in the Woods

Tuesday or Wednesday · 6.30pm · around 20 miles

An evening mountain bike and gravel ride exploring local trails and established club routes.

Sunday Club Pace

Sunday · 60 to 80 miles · 17 to 18 mph

A longer road ride for cyclists comfortable riding in a group at pace and over sustained distances.

Saturday Bike & Blether

Bike & Blether welcomes all suitable bike types. Rides cover around 20 to 30 miles at an average of 9 to 11 mph, with the exact pace depending on the route and group.

There is always a café stop and time for a good chat. It is particularly well suited to social cyclists and people who are new to riding with a group.

Dudes in the Woods

The group meets at 6.30pm on the Dundee side of the Tay Road Bridge. It traditionally rode on Tuesday, but now may move to Wednesday depending on weather and people’s schedules.

Dudes rides throughout the year, including cold and dark evenings, so suitable lights and clothing are important. The group does not normally go out in pouring rain.

Sunday Club Pace

The Sunday group rides year round, normally covering 60 to 80 miles at an average of 17 to 18 mph. Some routes exceed 100 miles.

It includes experienced veteran cyclists and welcomes newer riders who are fit enough for the pace and distance, confident handling their bike and comfortable riding in a group.

Nobody is left behind

This applies to every Dundee Dynamo group. Riders may become separated on hills, but everyone waits at the top so the group comes back together.
