Find your place in the club
You do not need to be a racing cyclist or own a fancy bike to ride with Dundee Dynamo. Start with the group that best matches your pace, confidence and preferred surface.
Choose your first ride
Bike & Blether
Our most accessible social ride. Saturdays, 20 to 30 miles at an average of 9 to 11 mph. Any suitable bike is welcome and there is always a café stop.
Dudes in the Woods
An evening mountain bike and gravel ride of around 20 miles. It normally runs on Tuesday but may move to Wednesday. Check Facebook each week for the day and conditions.
Sunday Club Pace
A longer road ride for cyclists comfortable riding in a group at an average of 17 to 18 mph. Routes are normally 60 to 80 miles and sometimes exceed 100 miles.
Think about pace, distance, road surface and your experience riding with others. If you are unsure, contact us and we will help you choose.
Try a few rides
You are welcome to come along for a few rides before joining. There is no rigid trial limit. We will see how things go and discuss membership naturally when the time is right.
Will I be left behind?
No. This applies to every Dundee Dynamo group. Riders may become separated on hills, but the group waits at the top so everyone comes back together.
What should I bring?
- A roadworthy bike suitable for the ride
- Water, food and money or a card for the café stop
- A spare inner tube or suitable puncture repair kit
- Clothing and lights appropriate for the weather and time of day
- A helmet is strongly encouraged, particularly given driver behaviour, although British Cycling treats helmet use as a personal choice
Membership
Annual membership costs £20 and renews each February. If you join during the year, the full £20 covers you from your joining date until the following February. Membership is not prorated.
You can pay the Club Treasurer directly or join through the Dundee Dynamo page on British Cycling.
