Bike & Blether Run Report

By: Ged

On arrival at the slabs it was difficult to find our small group in amongst the multitude of Wheelers gathered there, but our team of 8, Antonia, Yvonne, Leigh-Ann, Gill, Bill, Rab, Grant and myself soon found each other on the edge of the throng.

So off we rolled happily on the flat before, once through Rossie Priory, turning towards our “hilly” adventure.

Up the Knapp road we spread out a bit as we climbed through the village.

Climbed past the sawmill, climbed up left towards Abernyte.

We could have gone to the cafe here but Antonia had never stopped at the Pickled Peacock before so we aimed for there.

Climbed up out of Abernyte, climbed through the farmland towards Kinnaird.

Stopping for a breather, a photo opportunity and enjoy the view out over the Carse before descending past Kinnaird, gave everyone the opportunity for some extra blethering.

More blethering as we reached our cafe stop as we enjoyed a hot drink and something to eat.

Retracing our tracks we passed the Horn, no bacon rolls today, and wound along to Grange and back in to the slabs.

Climbing finished for some, but Yvonne, Grant and Leigh-Ann headed through Castle Huntley and up to Fowlis and Birkhill.

Thanks to all for great company, cycling and blethering
